Dreams Do Come True, If We Have the Courage to Pursue Them

I am Disney. My first theme park experience was within a month of being born. Walt Disney World was my playground. My first "job" was working for mom there. My first kiss was at EPCOT. My first and last high school dance took place at the resorts. Disney will always be the place where I grew up, but as some children leave their hometowns, so too must I make the leap and leave Disney.

It will always be there, for sure. But sometimes it's ok to accept that there are greater things waiting for you. Disney will always be there if I choose to go back, but for now I'm on to a new adventure. This month I accepted a Full Time Concierge position with one of the leading conference hotels in Orlando. I was thrilled that my Disney Leadership cheered me on through this decision. I was even more thrilled today, at orientation, when I realized just how much my time with Disney truly prepared me for my career. I am, now as much as ever, assured that I have chosen the right career path.

I am so proud of my accomplishments this first quarter of the year. If this blog covered more of my personal life you'd see, erm, a bit of a change as it were. Believe me, I have stories from these past few months that would make you laugh with awkward delight--but that's not what this blog's for. This blog's main purpose was to document the progress of a Disney CP, and, in this case, her rise to a greater calling. I owe almost all of my current success to the opportunities presented through the Disney College Program. I got through some of the toughest interview questions due to strategies I learned in my Exploring Disney Guest Relations class. My on-stage experience supplied me with enough stories and examples to get through interviews for the rest of my life. Disney made me the associate I am today, and I cannot wait to bring some magic elsewhere.

It's a big leap, leaving what I know, but it just feels right.

And I am so over-joyously, ridiculously happy.
